Trip to downtown Redmond, OR

I just got back from a trip over to Bend, OR and while I was there I decided to check-out the town just about 15 miles north called Redmond.  I had heard there were some newer shops that had opened up and a revival of the downtown was in the works.  The first shop was Cottage Treasures owned by a sweet lady named Patty.  She specialized in shabby chic cottage style decor, but she also had a little bit of everything else. She has owned the shop for 5 years located at 223 sw 6th st in Redmond.
So many beautiful chandeliers

My Next stop was Cricket on the Hearth opened on October 5th of this month by a lady named Peggy.  It was so neat to see someone with the passion and excitement that comes with starting a new endevour.  And even more excting to meet a fellow believer with the same passions.  The Shop is actually located in the lobby of the historic Redmond Hotel at 521 sw 6th St.
I love this rusty open sign!
I don't know what was going on with the P's that day but I met another lady named Penny, if you can believe it whose husband made this adorable yellow cubbard for Peggy's shop.
The architecture in this building was phenomenal, I wish I could have captured it better on camera.  But you will just have to take a trip to see it for yourself.

Both of these stores alone were worth the trip. And there are more stores like this opening soon.  Not to mention how sweet these ladies all were. So if you live or are traveling through make sure to stop in and tell Patty, Peggy and Penny Hi from Ruth of Hillhouse.

Harvest Decor inspiration

Sometimes I need a little inspiration to decorate for the holidays, I've heard so many people say lately that they are going to skip Harvest and wait to decorate for Christmas.  So I thought I would motivate whoever I could to decorate anyway even if you are keeping it simple this year.

I hope this helped anyone who just needed a little boost!

More thoughts from Bible College Days:

Too Many words create confusion, too little words create questions.  The Bible is God's wisdom poured-out through inspiration of another.  Creating language in its most beautiful form.

Glimpses of Parisian Lifestyle and European touches

The Paris Apartment has some amazing photos of Vignette's recent Parisian Soiree.

More Inspiring pictures of Euro flair

More thoughts set to paper and pen in my Bible College days:

Questions seem to have no answers
And my thoughts seem repetitious and tiresome
However, the light seems to shine much brighter amidst the gloom
The light that captivates and creates
An unspeakable longing in my heart for eternity future
Not all is lost and much is still to be gained
Knowledge which produces wisdom and aides in understanding
Moments of heavenly sent blessings from above

Oh How the Days so Quickly Turn...

It finally feels like fall here in Medford.  This morning I awoke to green grass and trees full of their leaves, and as the day waxed on the leaves fell swiftly to the ground as the rain continued to fall and the wind continued to blow.  These were pictures taken in my own backyard just hours later.

The following is something I wrote while in Bible College many years ago:

Oh how the days so quickly turn to months
Will we ever be able to hold onto the moment
It's like grasping for the wind
We know not, from where it blows
Or to where it goes
We have no understanding
Yet the understanding lies not in deed or thought
But rather in the simplicity of believing
Believing by faith that all things under heaven and earth
Have only one true master
To Whom they must surrender all

The final Stop on my trip North was A vintage Gathering and Barnhouse

I had been to these shows before, but I was just as excited as the first time.  I was able to meet some of the vendors this time and it was so much fun.  I first hit A vintage Gathering :
Greeted by this lovely Cow

My good friend Mindy came all the way from Medford also to attend the barn shows.

Uncovered Ruby had my favorite displays and meeting Lisa one of the owners of the locally owned shop was so wonderful.  I don't have pictures of the shop, but I did get a chance to go and I did buy several things, as I knew I would.

Now off to the Barnhouse!!
I know I missed so many amazing things because I've seen pics of what it looked like first thing, but here are some of my own pics later in the day.

Pillows by Bella

Always amazes me the drama you can create with simple greenery and lighting

Simple Elegant Lavender

Industrial Touches everywhere

The stylings of Tarte are not to be missed

Love these old bikes

I wasn't able to take as many pics of these places as I would have liked because I was too buisy shopping and on a limited time to get back to Medford that day, but suffice it to say it is well worth the trip no matter where you are coming from.
